It was important to redesign of a new version of the ABCmouse UX and UI experience, focusing on a scalable visual system that made it easier for kids to explore research-backed, curriculum-driven activities. To bring the work to life, I partnered closely with animation and engineering to ensure interactions felt smooth, responsive, and simple for young learners.
I worked with the acquisitions and leadership teams on reimagining the full onboarding experience with improvements through A/B testing, comparing flows and design directions to increase retention and make the sign-up journey more inviting for parents while staying aligned with the product experience. A mix between business thinking, design and tech.
Experiences inside the app are the most important, contributing to interactive moments that helped kids learn through play and became some of the most engaged-with features in the product. I approached these as full experiences, shaping the core idea, the rules and progression, the screen layout, and the look and feel so the mechanics stayed simple, readable, and satisfying for young learners.
Some games I design include a stacking game where I developed the concept and designed the gameplay flow, visual states, and feedback moments to keep it intuitive and rewarding. I also created new characters and interactive experiences that fit naturally within the ABCmouse world, supporting different learning goals while adding personality, variety, and repeatable fun across the broader activity library.
Results
Working with ABCmouse was more than a design job, it was about combining research backed learning with a playful, scalable design system, and making way for ABCmouse to feel more guided, more cohesive, and more fun to explore.
